The symposium offers a product-neutral forum and aims to create a long-term exchange platform for information sharing, presenting trend lectures, gathering expert information and conveying the current state of development. This symposium is organized jointly with the EMMA-CC symposium, that takes place the following day at the same place.

The modeling and efficient simulation of human motions for applications in the fields of ergonomics, medicine and computer graphics is a big challenge. The objective of the project "Ergodynamic Moving Manikin with Cognitive Control" is the development of an enhanced digital human model for ergonomic assessment of dynamic motions by validated simultion to support the design of healthier and safer workplaces in future product development and product planning processes.

The application of numerical simulation incorporating digital human models offers exciting opportunities in automotive development. Applying human models in comfort, ergonomics, occupant safety and other disciplines promises to overcome limitations imposed by the use of real humans or their mechanical surrogates and thus enables further optimization of automotive designs. The symposium intends to continue and further advance the dialog between researchers, software developers and industrial users of human models.
